Carbon Fiber Car Parts
posted by photoboy27
NFS Carbon is out, so you probably want to see how your car would look like with some neat carbon fiber parts.
1. Open your image. Here I’ve chosen a nice black Mitsubishi Lancer.

2. Select the part of the car you want to turn to carbon fiber. In my case I selected the hood.

3. Now hit Ctrl+J (this will copy the hood into a new layer). Go to Image > Adjustment > Desaturate (or hit Shft+Ctrl+U) to desaturate the new layer.
4. Create a new Layer (Layer->New) and fill it with Herringbone 2 pattern (to do this go to Edit > Fill and indicate Use: Pattern and here you will see the Herringbone 2).

5. Now go to Filter > Distort > Twirl and use these settings.

6. With the Marquee Tool selected, right click on the image and select Free Transform. Rescale and move the pattern to be like this.
