Add Tutorial
Have a tutorial you’d like to add? We’d love to see it. In order to add a tutorial, you must be a registered user. You can register here. If you’re already a registered user of DoPhotoshop.com, you can simply login here and add your tutorial.
Tutorial Guidelines
All images should be jpegs (.jpg), 72 dpi, and no wider than 400 pixels.
Because all tutorial images are stored in the same place, be sure your image names are unique. Some combination of your user name and the tutorial name is best. For example, for the moderator’s tutorial on how to add tutorials, the images may be named ModAddTut1.jpg, ModAddTut2.jpg, ModAddTut3.jpg, etc.
Being specific keeps your tutorials unique. There may be many tutorials online about the magnetic lasso tool, but there aren’t many about using the magnetic lasso to put a halo around the head of your favorite rockstar (or your dog)! Mix and match tools or effects, make it interesting!
Please do not post content that is obscene, defamatory, pornographic, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or otherwise inappropriate. Keep it clean. Share the love.
Finished tutorials are submitted to a moderator who reviews and publishes them. The moderator reserves the right to edit or delete posts for any reason. If you have any complaints about a moderator’s choice, contact the dophotoshop team. Complaints or concerns are considered seriously.
Have fun! Welcome to the dophotoshop community!
Tutorial Instructions
1. Plan your tutorial: Plan the number of steps required to complete effect, action, or image you’ve chosen to explain, and decide what steps will need images.
2. Image Capture: Run through the steps for your tutorial, and capture screenshots of important or difficult to explain steps. On a PC, this is done by hitting the “printscreen” button on the keyboard. On a Mac, this can be done by hitting control+command+shift+3. This copies an image of your screen to the clipboard. Simply open a new photoshop document and choose Edit>Paste. Repeat this step for as many images as you may need.
3. Prep & name images: Crop your screenshots to the important sections, and save them as JPEG files. To be sure your images have unique names when uploaded, use a combination of your dophotoshop username and the tutorial you’re creating. For example, the moderator’s images for this explanation on adding tutorials are called ModAddTut1.jpg, ModAddTut2.jpg, ModAddTut3.jpg, etc. NOTE: if you’d like to have an icon next to your tutorial, be sure to create one.
